DRIVE BELT INSPECTION, PULLEY AND VIBRATION DAMPER INSPECTION, AND BELT TENSIONER

Pulley and Vibration Damper Inspection

1. Inspect all belt pulleys (Figure 34, Items 1, 2, 5 and 6) for damage or bent condition.
a. If damaged or bent alternator pulley (Figure 34, Item 1) is found, replace damaged or bent alternator pulley
(WP 0094).
b. If damaged or bent refrigerant compressor pulley (Figure 34, Item 6) is found, replace refrigerant
c.
If damaged or bent crankshaft pulley (Figure 34, Item 5) is found, replace crankshaft pulley (WP 0083).
d. If pulleys are OK, proceed to step 2.
2. Remove and inspect vibration damper (Figure 34, Item 3) for damage (WP 0083).
a. If vibration damper is damaged, replace vibration damper (WP 0083).
b. If vibration damper is OK, install vibration damper (WP 0083) and proceed to Belt Tensioner Check.
Belt Tensioner Check

1. Using a 1/2 in. square drive tool, slowly rotate belt tensioner (Figure 34, Item 4) through full limits of travel.
a. If belt tensioner binds or sticks, replace belt tensioner (WP 0093).
b. If belt tensioner is OK, go to Step 2.
2. Install drive belt on machine (WP 0093).
