Always inspect the harness connectorsthat are involved in the circuit.
Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical
circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure,
and that all connections are in good condition. If a problem with a con-
nection is found, correct the problem and verify that this diagnostic code
is Active before performing this procedure.
Perform open or short circuit test ateach harness connection to identify
correct harness to replace.
Perform this test only if condition is active.
Test Step 1. Verify if Code 0573-08
is Active.
1. Connect MSD (WP 0006). Select
0573-03 and 0573-08 Code Active -
Diagnose 0573-03 first in this work
Trans/Chassis 120M and verify
package.
0573-08 is active.
0573-04 and 0573-08 Code Active -
Diagnose 0573-04 first in this work
package.
0573-08 only Code Active - Proceed
to step 2.
0573-08 Code Not Active - Trouble-
shooting complete.
2. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to the OFF
position (TM 5-3805-293-10).
3. Disconnect harness connector P-
C40 (WP 0009, Figure 114) from
inching pedal position sensor (WP
0009, Figure 115) (WP 0289).
4. Connect a jumper wire between
harness connector P-C40 (WP
0009, Figure 114) terminal B and
terminal C.
5. Turn battery disconnect switch
and ignition switch to the ON posi-
tion (TM 5-3805-293-10).
