FLYWHEEL, FLYWHEEL HOUSING AND GEAR GROUP INSPECT CONTINUED
WARN I N G
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure. Ensure any lifting device used is in good condition and of
suitable load capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device. Failure to
follow this warning may result in injury or death to personnel.
N OT E
Flywheel weighs approximately 120 lb (54 kg).
4. Using lifting device, install flywheel (Figure 27, Item 1) on two guide bolts (Figure 27, Item 2).
5. Install 10 bolts (Figure 27, Item 4) and washers (Figure 27, Item 3) on flywheel (Figure 27, Item 1).
6. Remove guide bolts (Figure 27, Item 2) from pump drive gear.
N OT E
A socket and breaker bar can be used on the front of the engine to prevent crank shaft
from rotating. Refer to Manually Turning Engine in this work package for bolt location.
7. Install two bolts (Figure 27, Item 4) and washers (Figure 27, Item 3) on flywheel (Figure 27, Item 1). Torque all
bolts to 100 15 lb-ft (135 20 Nm).
