CYLINDER HEAD INSPECT
1. Remove cylinder head from engine (WP 0084).
2. Inspect cylinder head for signs of gas or coolant leakage.
3. Clean and inspect cylinder head, inspect for cracks between valves.
4. Use a straight edge and a feeler gauge to check combustion side of the cylinder head (Figure 21, Item 1) for
flatness.
a. Measure from side to side (A). Maximum permissible distortion 0.0012 in. (0.03 mm).
b. Measure from end to end (B). Maximum permissible distortion 0.0020 in. (0.05 mm).
c.
Measure from corner to corner (C). Maximum permissible distortion 0.0020 in. (0.05 mm).
