N OT E
Always inspect the harness connectorsthat are involved in the circuit.
Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical
circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure,
and that all connections are in good condition. If a problem with a con-
nection is found, correct the problem and verify that this diagnostic code
is Active before performing this procedure.
Perform open or short circuit test ateach harness connection to identify
correct harness to replace.
Perform this test only if condition is active.
Test Step 1. Verify if Code 0681-06
is Active.
1. Connect MSD (WP 0006). Select
0681-06 Code Active - Proceed to
Trans/Chassis 120M and verify
Test Step 2.
0681-06 is active.
0681-06 Code Not Active - Trouble-
shooting complete.
Test Step 2. Test Park Brake Sole-
noid.
1. Disconnect harness connector T-
C11 (WP 0009, Figure 139) from
parking brake solenoid (WP 0009,
Figure 140) (WP 0156).
2. Using MSD (WP 0006), verify
0681-05 Code Becomes Active -
Replace park brake solenoid (WP
0681-05 is active.
0156).
Proceed to step 3.
0681-06 Code Remains Active - Pro-
ceed to Test Step 3.
3. Using MSD (WP 0006), verify
0681-06 Code Remains Active -
0681-06 is not active.
Repeat troubleshooting from the
beginning of this diagnostic code.
0681-06 Code Not Active - Trouble-
shooting complete.
Test Step 3. Test Transmission Wir-
ing Harness.
1. Disconnect rear chassis harness
connector FA-C28 (WP 0009, Fig-
ure 129) from transmission wiring
harness connector T-C1 (WP
0009, Figure 130).
