REASSEMBLY
Reassembly must be accomplished on a firm, level
surface. All loose parts, tools, jumper lines, jack screws,
etc. can be found in the tool box located on the front
draw bar. The pivot pins, bolts, clamps, etc., may have
been reinstalled on the frames. Remove the plastic
covering on the pivot pins and bores. Two men are
required for this operation.
1.
Remove the two bolts and straps securing the
remote control box to the front frame. Remove
and
store
its
cover
in
the
operators
compartment. Remove remote control assembly
from the front frame.
2.
Slide the arm of the remote control assembly
into the bracket next to the left battery box.
Connect the hoses and wiring harness to the
connection panel on the left frame rail. Route
the mechanical push/pull cables through the
battery box mounting bracket toward the front of
the rear frame. Use the identification tags to
connect the cables.
NOTE
The control levers may have to be adjusted
to make the cable connections. If
necessary, use the cable extractor tool
5R7047 to extend the cables.
3.
Engage
the
emergency
brake,
shift
the
transmission to "NEUTRAL" and disengage the
clutch.
4.
Start the engine and move the rear frame to
within three (3) feet of the front frame, aligning
the articulation joint as close as possible. See
Driving The Rear Frame for proper driving
procedures.
5.
Disengage the clutch, set the emergency brake,
stop the engine and shift the transmission to
"NEUTRAL."
6.
Install the jacks on the back of the rear frame.
Remove the links from the tandems on both
sides of the frame and store the links in the tool
box. Tighten the link caps securely.
