3. Inspect following fuel system components for leaks such as wetness around fittings or dripping fuel:
a. Primary fuel/water separator lines and fittings (Figure 21, Item 1). If condition found, replace fuel line (WP
0173).
b. Fuel tank lines and fittings (Figure 21, Items 2 and 3). If condition found, replace fuel line (WP 0173).

4. Check fuel return line (Figure 22, Item 4) for kinks or dents that may restrict fuel flow. If condition found, replace
fuel line (WP 0173).
5. Install new fuel filters (WP 0073 and WP 0174).
6. Start engine and operate machine (TM 5-3805-293-10).
a. If condition is no longer present, return machine to normal service.
b. If condition is still present, proceed to step 7.
7. Stop engine (TM 5-3805-293-10).
8. Press down and disconnect fuel return line (Figure 22, Item 1) from secondary fuel filter base (Figure 22,
Item 3). Insert end of connection into a suitable container.
9. Install 1/4 inch fuel hose to fuel return (Figure 22, Item 2). Insert other end of tube into suitable container.
