TM 5-3805-263-14&P-110.Move the governor control lever to half enginespeed.11.If the starting temperature is below 160C (600F),push DOWN and hold the hydraulic unloading valve roddown until the engine starts.NOTE: When temperatures are below -180C (0°F), holdthe hydraulic unloading valve down 1 to 2 minutes afterthe engine starts.NOTICEWith the engine running at low idle, release the hydraulicunloading valve rod slowly, to allow the pump to beloaded gradually with the cold, thickened oil.12.Depress the accelerator pedal past detent.13.Push IN and turn the start switch to START.Release the switch when the engine starts.NOTICEDo not turn the disconnect switch off while the engine isrunning.If the low oil pressure indicator does not go off within sixseconds after the engine is running, stop the engine.Investigate and correct the cause.14.If the engine does not start, let the starter coolfor two minutes, then repeat starting procedures.39
