HIGH IDLE ADJUSTMENT (cont)

Loosen lock nut (21).
4.
Using accurate tachometer, adjust
screw (22). Adjust high idle to
2336 rpm.
5.
Decrease engine speed and return
to high idle. Check high idle
speed again with tachometer.
6.
Tighten lock nut (21).
7.
Install new gasket (20), cover
(19) and two bolts (18).
DASHPOT ADJUSTMENT
1.
Hold body (23, Figure 3-109).
2.
Turn screw (24) clockwise until
screw stops.
3.
Adjust 1/2 turn counterclockwise.
TESTING/ADJUSTING BALANCING POINT
NOTE
It is important for the
correct operation of the
transmission that the
balance point is adjusted
to the correct
specification.
The static fuel adjustment
must be correct before
adjustment is made for
balance point.

Connect tachometer to tachometer
drive.
