Ensure harness assemblies are not in contact with the rocker arms or pinched by the
valve mechanism cover.
31. Install rocker shaft and adjust valve lash (WP 0113).

Ensure the gasket is fully seated into the groove of the valve mechanism cover.
32. Install new gasket (Figure 31, Item 4), valve mechanism cover (Figure 31, Item 1) and 15 bolts (Figure 31,
Item 6) on valve mechanism cover base (Figure 31, Item 5). Torque bolts in sequence shown (Figure 32) to
79 lb-in. (9 Nm).
33. Install new O-ring (Figure 31, Item 7), breather (Figure 31, Item 3) and four screws (Figure 31, Item 2) on valve
mechanism cover (Figure 31, Item 1).
