ENGINE OIL COOLER INSPECTION

WARN I N G
Hot oil and hot components can cause injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to
contact skin. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury to personnel.
1. Remove engine oil cooler (Figure 6, Item 3) from engine (WP 0089).
2. Thoroughly clean oil cooler (Figure 6, Item 3) and mounting area (Figure 6, Item 4).
WARN I N G
Personal injury can result from air pressure. When using pressure air, wear a protective
face shield and protective clothing. Maximum air pressure at nozzle must be less than 15
psi (103 kPa) for drying purposes.
3. Dry oil cooler (Figure 6, Item 3) with low pressure air.
4. Inspect oil cooler (Figure 6, Item 3), oil cooler core (Figure 6, Item 1), and mounting surfaces (Figure 6, Items
2, and 4) for cracks and dents.
a.
If oil cooler core (Figure 6, Item 1) has cracks or dents, replace oil cooler core (WP 0089).
b. Oil cooler OK, proceed to step 5.

5. Install engine oil cooler on engine (WP 0089).
