Personal injury can result fom hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil. Hydraulic oil pressure

can remain in hydraulic system after engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be
caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on hydraulic system.
Make sure all work tools have been lowered to ground, and oil is cool before removing any
components or lines. Remove oil filler cap only when engine is stopped. Filler cap must be
cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Sudden movement of machine or release of oil under pressure can cause injury to
persons on or near machine. Perform procedure that follows before testing and adjusting
brake system.
Failure to follow these warnings ma result in injury to personnel.

Care must be taken to ensure fluids are contained during performance of inspection,
maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of product. Be prepared to collect fluid with
suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component
containing fluids. Dispose of all fluids IAW local regulations and mandates.
Preparation of Machine for Fan Speed Test

1. Park machine (TM 5-3805-293-10).
2. If machine is equipped with arctic heater, remove battery box (WP 0335).
3. Connect battery cables (WP 0195).
4. Connect MSD to machine (WP 0006).
5. Select engine ECM C6.6 120M, select Active Codes tab and verify there are no active diagnostic codes.
a. If diagnostic codes are active, diagnose codes before proceeding (WP 0010).
b. If diagnostic codes are not active, proceed to step 6.
