Always inspect the harness connectorsthat are involved in the circuit.
Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical
circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure,
and that all connections are in good condition. If a problem with a con-
nection is found, correct the problem and verify that this diagnostic code
is Active before performing this procedure.
Perform open or short circuit test ateach harness connection to identify
correct harness to replace.
Perform this test only if condition is Active.
Test Step 1. Test for 10 Volts at Left
Steering Cylinder Position Sensor.
Trans/chassis 120M and verify
1482-04 is active.
2. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to the OFF
position.
3. Disconnect the steering position
sensor harness connector UA-C2
steering position sensor (WP
0009, Figure 193) (WP 0136).
4. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to the ON posi-
tion.
Voltage OK (9.6 - 10.4 Volts) - 10 Volt
voltage between UA-C2 (WP
power supply from transmission ECM
0009, Figure 192) terminal 1 and
OK. Replace left steering cylinder
terminal 2 (ground). Voltage

volts.
Voltage Not OK - Proceed to Test
Step 2.
1482-04 Code Active - Repeat trou-
Trans/chassis 120M and verify
bleshooting code from the beginning.
1482-04 is not active.
1482-04 Code Not Active - Trouble-
shooting complete.
