INSTALL TRANSMISSION OIL AND
SCAVENGE PUMP

Put transmission oil and scavenge pump (1)
in position on a block and a floor jack.
Lift the oil pump to the correct height with
the floor jack. Put the splines on the oil
pump shaft (2) in alignment with the
coupling on the transmission.
Install the bolts and the lockwashers that
hold the oil pump to the transmission.
Remove the block and the floor jack.
Put four oil lines (4) in position on the
transmission and the oil pump.
Install the bolts (3) and the washers that
hold the oil lines to the oil pump.
Install bolts (5) and the washers that hold
the oil lines to the transmission.
Put plate (8) in position on the radiator
guard. Install bolts (6) that hold it.
Put fan belts (9) in position on the alterna-
tor pulley. Move the alternator until there is
1/2 in. (12.7 mm) movement of the belts
when a 25 lb. (11.3 kg) force is put on the
be1ts.
Tighten bolts (7) that hold the alternator.
