SECTION 2
SECTIONALIZATION
This document contains the procedures required to
sectionalize the Type II 130G Motor Grader to make it
ready for helicopter slinging.
The procedures include:
DISASSEMBLY - separation into two sections
DRIVING - operating the rear section
R EASSEMBLY - reconnecting the two sections
PERSONNEL AND TOOLS REQUIRED
The sectionalization of Type II machines can be
accomplished by two people using the special tools and
equipment provided with the machine, plus standard
hand tools. Another person may expedite some of the
procedures where noted. Disassembly and immediate
reassembly can be completed in approximately 4 hours.
NOTE
To avoid confusion and possible equipment
damage or personal injury, one person must
be
deligated
as
the
crew
leadar
for
sectionalization. All other people must follow
the directions of the crew leader.
The standard hand tools required are:
Combination box and open end wrenches in 3/8,
1/2, 9/16, 3/4, 15/16, 1, 1-1!2, 1-11/16 and
1-1/8 in. sizes
Slip joint pliers
1/2 in. drift punch
Standard blade screwdriver
3 lb. hammer
