(Sheet 2 of 6)REMOVAL1.Remove bolts (1 and 2, Figure 3-71) frombottom of engine.2.Support items 8 thru 18 as an assembly.3.Remove two bolts (3), locks (4), bolts (5) andwashers (6).4.Remove items 8 thru 18 as an assembly andgasket (7) from elbow (19).5.Remove and discard gasket (7) from engine.Remove all gasket material from mountingsurfaces.6.Remove two bolts (8), lock (9), bell (10) andgasket (11, Figure 3-72) from oil pumpassembly. Discard gasket (11). Remove allgasket material from mounting surfaces.7.Using suitable puller, remove gear (12).CAUTIONRemoval of bearing from gear willcause destruction of bearing. Removebearing only if inspection indicatesreplacement is necessary.8.Inspect bearing (13).
