It provides gear reduction and transfers power through the final drives to therear wheels at each side of the vehicle. It allows power to be transmitted equally to both sides even though the wheels onone side are moving more slowly when the vehicle is turning.A differential lock-unlock feature includes a hydraulic valve that operates a clutch which causes drive wheels at both sidesto travel at the same speed and pull evenly to reduce slippage.Figure 1-32.1-35
