3. Remove packaging material (Figure 2, Item 2) from battery box (Figure 2, Item 3).
4. Attach sling and lifting device to battery box (Figure 2, Item 3).
5. With sling and lifting device, remove battery box (Figure 2, Item 3) from crate (Figure 2, Item 1).

1. Proper care must be taken to ensure arctic kit is placed in an open area for inspection. Complete a physical
inventory and inspection of arctic kit parts (Refer to Table 1, Arctic Kit Parts List). Inspect all components of the
arctic kit for damage and loose or missing parts. If any damage is noted or if any parts are missing, notify your
supervisor.
2. If any item is damaged, fill out and forward SF Form 364, Report of Discrepancy (ROD), as prescribed in
AR 735-11-2. All damage should be reported as prescribed by DA PAM 750-8, The Army Maintenance
Management System (TAMMS) Users Manual.
