Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure. Ensure any lifting device used is in good condition and of
suitable load capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device. Failure
to follow this warning may result in injury or death to personnel.

DO NOT use prybar to separate the cylinder head from the cylinder block. DO NOT
damage machined surfaces of cylinder head or cylinder block during removal.
N OT E
Cylinder head weighs approximately 165 lb (75 kg).
17. Attach link bracket (Figure 9, Item 3) to cylinder head (Figure 9, Item 1).
18. Attach lifting device (Figure 9, Item 2) to cylinder head (Figure 9, Item 1).
19. Use lifting device (Figure 9, Item 2) to lift cylinder head (Figure 9, Item 1) from cylinder block (Figure 9, Item 4).
20. Lower cylinder head (Figure 9, Item 1) on clean flat surface.
21. Remove lifting device (Figure 9, Item 2) and link bracket (Figure 9, Item 3) from cylinder head (Figure 9,
Item 1).
