Two different length bolts are installed on the front cover. Note the position of bolts during
removal to aid in installation.
Remove 15 bolts (Figure 1, Item 1), front cover (Figure 1, Item 2), and gasket (Figure 1, Item 3) from engine
(Figure 1, Item 4). Discard gasket.

Clean and inspect all components IAW Mechanical General Maintenance Instructions (WP 0346).

Two different length bolts are installed on the front cover. Install bolts as noted during
removal.
1. Install new gasket (Figure 1, Item 3), front cover (Figure 1, Item 2) and 15 bolts (Figure 1, Item 1) on engine
(Figure 1, Item 4). Hand tighten only.
2. Loosely install water pump (WP 0082).
3. Torque 15 bolts (Figure 1, Item 1) to 16 lb-ft (22 Nm).
