Always inspect the harness connectorsthat are involved in the circuit.
Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical
circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure,
and that all connections are in good condition. If a problem with a con-
nection is found, correct the problem and verify that this diagnostic code
is Active before performing this procedure.
Perform open or short circuit test ateach harness connection to identify
correct harness to replace.
Perform this test only if condition is Active.
Test Step 1. Check for Other Codes.
1. Connect MSD (WP 0006), select
Trans/Chassis 120M and verify
1471-02 is active.
2. Using MSD, verify code 1471-02
Code 1471-02 Active on Both
is active for Implement 120M
Trans/Chassis and Implement
ECM (WP 0006).
ECMs - Take note that both ECMs
have code active and proceed to step
3.
Code 1471-02 Active on Trans/
Chassis ECM Only - Take note that
only implement 1 ECM has code
active and proceed to step 3.
3. Using MSD, verify code 0041-03
Only Code 1471-02 Active - Proceed
or 0041-04 is active in Implement
to Test Step 2.
120M ECM (WP 0006).
Implement 120M ECM Code 0041-
03 or 0041-04 Active - 8 Volt power
supply abnormal voltage, troubleshoot
implement 120M ECM Code 0041-03
or 0041-04 first before proceeding.
Test Step 2. Test for 8 V Power and
Signal Voltage at LH Joystick.
1. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to the OFF
position.
2. Disconnect the cab lower wiring
harness connector P-C51 (WP
0009, Figure 118) from LH joy-
stick connector J-1 (WP 0009,
Figure 119) (WP 0282).
