ECM will log a diagnostic code and a
warning will appear on the messenger
while the diagnostic code is Active.
N OT E
Always inspect the harness connectorsthat are involved in the circuit.
Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical
circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure,
and that all connections are in good condition. If a problem with a con-
nection is found, correct the problem and verify that this diagnostic code
is Active before performing this procedure.
Perform open or short circuit test ateach harness connection to identify
correct harness to replace.
Perform this test only if condition is Active.
Test Step 1. Test for Open Second-
ary Steering Left and Right Sole-
noid.
1. Connect MSD (WP 0006). Select
Trans/chassis 120M and verify
1674-05 is active.
2. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to the OFF
position.
3. Disconnect the front chassis wir-
ing harness connector U-C39
(WP 0009, Figure 186) from sec-
ondary steering left solenoid (WP
0009, Figure 187) (WP 0216).
4. Disconnect the front chassis wir-
ing harness connector U-C40
(WP 0009, Figure 190) from sec-
ondary steering right solenoid
(WP 0009, Figure 191) (WP
0216).
5. Using digital multimeter, test for
Resistance Less Than 50 Ohms -
resistance between secondary
