N OT E
Always inspect the harness connectors that are involved in the circuit.
Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical
circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure,
and that all connections are in good condition. If a problem with a
connection is found, correct the problem and verify that this diagnostic
code is Active before performing this procedure.
Perform open or short circuit test at each harness connection to
identify correct harness to replace.
Perform this test only if condition is Active.
Test Step 1. Test 8-Volt Supply Cir-
cuit and 8-Volt Return Circuit
Function.
1. Connect MSD (WP 0006). Select
All Wheel Drive 120M and verify
2319-02 is active.
2. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to the OFF
position.
3. Disconnect left motor speed AK-
C2 harness connector (WP
0009, Figure 59) from left front
drive motor speed sensor con-
nector (WP 0009, Figure 60)
(WP 0166).
4. Connect jumper wire between
AK-C2 terminal 1 and AK-C2 ter-
minal 2 (WP 0009, Figure 59).
5. Turn battery disconnect switch
and ignition switch to the ON
position.
6. Check for Active code 0041-04 in
Code 0041-04 Does Not Become
All Wheel Drive 120M ECM (WP
Active - Proceed to Test Step 2.
Code 0041-04 Becomes Active -
Proceed to Test Step 6.
