2297-06 Right Front Drive
System Response:
Pump Forward Control Sole- All-Wheel Drive (AWD) Electronic
noid Current Above Normal Control Module (ECM) will log a diag-
nostic code and a warning will appear
on the messenger while the diagnos-
tic code is Active.
N OT E
Always inspect the harness connectorsthat are involved in the circuit.
Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical
circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure,
and that all connections are in good condition. If a problem with a
connection is found, correct the problem and verify that this diagnostic
code is Active before performing this procedure.
Perform open or short circuit test ateach harness connection to identify
correct harness to replace.
Perform this test only if condition is Active.
Test Step 1. Test for Shorted Right
Drive Pump Forward Solenoid.
1. Connect MSD (WP 0006). Select
All Wheel Drive 120M and verify
2297-06 is active.
2. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to the OFF
position.
3. Open access door and disconnect
pump drive solenoid AX-C5 har-
ness connector (WP 0009, Figure
106) from right drive pump for-
ward solenoid connector (WP
0009, Figure 107).
4. Turn battery disconnect switch
and ignition switch to the ON posi-
tion.
5. Check for Active code 2297-05 or
Code 2297-06 Remains Active - Pro-
2297-06 in All Wheel Drive 120M
ceed to Test Step 2.
ECM (WP 0006).
Code 2297-06 Becomes Inactive
and 2297-05 Becomes Active -
Replace right drive pump forward
solenoid (WP 0117).
Proceed to step 6.
6. Using the MSD (WP 0006), select
2297-06 Code Active - Repeat trou-
All Wheel Drive 120M and verify
bleshooting code from the beginning.
2297-06 is not active.
2297-06 Code Not Active - Trouble-
shooting complete.
