Test Step 4. Test 823-GN Off Mode
Circuit Function in AWD ECM.
1. Turn ignition switch to the OFF
position.
2. Remove jumper wire from R-C16
terminal 2 and terminal 1 (WP
0009, Figure 66).
3. Connect jumper wire between R-
C16 terminal 3 and terminal 1
(WP 0009, Figure 66).
4. Turn ignition switch to the ON
position.
Code 0517-03 Becomes Inactive -
5. Check for Active code 0517-03 in
Proceed to Test Step 5.
All Wheel Drive 120M ECM (WP
Code 0517-03 Remains Active -
Replace AWD ECM (WP 0270).
Remove jumper wire from R-C16 ter-
minal 3 and terminal 1 (WP 0009, Fig-
ure 66).
Connect R-C16 (WP 0009, Figure 66)
on AWD mode switch connector (WP
0009, Figure 67) (WP 0275).
Proceed to step 6.
6. Using the MSD (WP 0006), select
0517-03 Code Active - Repeat trou-
All Wheel Drive 120M and verify
bleshooting code from the beginning.
0517-03 is not active.
0517-03 Code Not Active - Trouble-
shooting complete.

Mode Circuit Function in AWD
ECM.
1. Turn ignition switch to the OFF
position.
2. Remove jumper wire from R-C16
terminal 3 and terminal 1 (WP
0009, Figure 66).
3. Connect jumper wire between R-
C16 terminal 4 and terminal 1
(WP 0009, Figure 66).
