SUPPLEMENTAL STEERING SYSTEM
D. Circuit from electronic control module receptacle X pin I to
magnetic switch is open or shorted to ground.
E. Failure of magnetic switch coil open or coil is shorted to
ground.
F. Magnetic switch contacts corroded or failed open.
G. Open circuit type failure from the positive (+) battery
terminal to the magnetic switch terminal.
H. Open circuit type failure from the solenoid switch terminal to
motor and pump group terminal.
I. Open circuit type failure from the motor and pump group
terminal to negative (-) battery terminal.
J. Pump group motor failure.
K. Pump group pump will not turn.
L. Electronic control module bad.
Troubleshooting:
a) With engine stopped and disconnect switch OFF, check for
continuity across the terminals lettered "A" and "B" of
steering pressure switch. If switch has continuity with
engine stopped, switch is bad. Make replacement of switch.
b) Troubleshoot circuit for ground.
c) Check supplemental steering power fuse. Check disconnect
switch. If fuse and disconnect switch are OK, troubleshoot
the supply voltage circuit from positive battery terminal to
the control module and back to negative battery terminal.
FUSE LOCATION
(Located Right Side Below Cab)
d) Troubleshoot circuit between electronic control module
receptacle X pin 1 and magnetic switch terminal for grounds
or opens. Make sure plugs and receptacles at the electronic
control module are mated properly.
