position, pressure sensing switch (14) in the primary
hydraulic system senses when hydraulic pressure has
been lost or is below the minimum acceptable level. The
sensing switch (14) electrically tells the supplemental
steering electronic control module that there is a loss of
pressure. The control then turns on electric motor (6).
This motor (6) drives hydraulic pump (8) for
supplemental steering.
HYDRAULIC OIL TANK
3. Tank.
SUPPLEMENTAL STEERING MOTOR AND PUMP
6. Motor. 8. Pump.
The machine's batteries must have a normal charge and
the supplemental steering electrical system must have
correct operation. A low charge condition, or any defect
in the battery, battery cells, or electrical circuit can cause
loss of supplemental steering and could result in
personal injury and/or damage to the machine.
CHECK VALVE (AT COMBINATION VALVE)
The supplemental steering system is also manually
