1. Inspect inside pulley (Figure 3, Item 4) for wear or out-of-roundness. Replace pulley if worn.
2. Inspect shaft threads (Figure 3, Item 5) for damage or excessive wear. Replace alternator (Figure 3, Item 1) if
damaged or has excessive wear.
3. Turn alternator shaft (Figure 3, Item 2) by hand. Shaft should turn easily with no grinding sound. If noisy,
bearings are worn; replace alternator (Figure 3, Item 1).
4. Inspect brackets (Figure 3, Item 3) for cracks, wear or deformities. Replace bracket if worn (WP 0095).
