Exhaust System Inspection

1. Inspect exhaust manifold (Figure 8, Item 5), elbow (Figure 8, Item 4), for cracks, dents, holes, or soot residue
around connections.
a. Replace exhaust manifold (WP 0076) if damage is found.
b. Replace elbow (WP 0077) if damage is found.
c.
Replace exhaust manifold gasket (WP 0076) if soot is found.
d. Exhaust manifold, and elbow OK, proceed to step 2.
2. Inspect muffler (Figure 8, Item 1), and exhaust pipe (Figure 8, Item 2) for cracks, dents, holes, or soot residue
around connections.
a. Replace muffler (WP 0063) if damage is found.
b. Replace exhaust pipe (WP 0063) if damage is found.
c.
Muffler and exhaust pipe OK, proceed to step 3.
3. Inspect two clamps bolts and nuts (Figure 8, Item 3) for loose or missing condition.
a. Tighten or replace clamps bolts and nuts (WP 0063).
b. Exhaust system OK, return to troubleshooting.
