Bench test nozzles using clean SAEJ967 Calibration Oil
at a temperature

Select sleeve length to provide lift setting of 0.38 ± 0.05
mm (.01 ± .002 in.).
(2)
Select spacer thickness to provide a valve opening pressure
of 15170 ± 1030 kPa (2200 ± 149 psi.). Nominal spring load
to provide 15170 kPa (2200 psi.) valve opening pressure is
127.3 N (28.5 lb. ft.).

Tighten to 53 ± 7 N·m (39 ± 5 lb. ft.).
(4)
Tighten to 1.8 ± 0.2 N·m (1.3 ± lb. ft.).
There must be no leakage around bleed screw when nozzle is
submerged in IE1084 fuel and pressurized to 13800 ± 1000 kPa
(2001 ± 145 psi.) for 10 seconds.
Tip Leakage Test:
Step A: supply 24115 ± 3445 kPa (3497 ± 500 psi.) of
calibrating fluid in a 25 ± 3 ml chamber connected to the
outside of the nozzle allowing the pressure to enter the
orifices.
Step B: Remove pressure source.
Step C: Pressure drop must not exceed 6890 kPa (999 psi.) in
two seconds.
