Put gear (6) and bearing in position on the shaftand install washer and bolt.CAUTIONClean water only is permitted for use as a lubri-cant for assistance at installation. Do not dam-age or put hands on the wear surface of thecarbon ring or the ceramic ring. Install the cer-amic ring with the smoothest face of the ringtoward the carbon seal assembly.7. Put the ceramic ring (7) in position in the rub-ber seal. Use hand pressure and tool (which iswith the replacement ring) to install the cera-mic ring and rubber seal.8. Remove the spring from the seal assembly (8).Use hand pressure and the tool (which is withthe replacement ring) to install the seal assem-bly. Push seal assembly on the shaft until theseal faces make light contact.9. Install spring (9) on the seal assembly.1-108
