PROBLEM 3
SYMPTOMS:
Supplemental steering system operating OK, but hydraulic system getting too hot.
Possible Causes:
A.
Check valve mounted on hydraulic oil cooler bypass valve is bad or installed
backwards.
Troubleshooting:
a)
Arrow on valve body must point up (towards by-pass valve). If installed in
correct direction, check for free flow in direction of arrow and for blocked flow in
direction opposite to arrow.
PROBLEM 4
SYMPTOMS:
Steering effort is more for supplemental steering system than for primary steering
system.
Possible Causes:
A.
Supplemental steering relief valve bad.
Troubleshooting:
a)
With engine stopped, use manual switch to operate supplemental steering
system. Check steering system pressure. Correct pressure is 12570 690
kPa (1825 100 psi). If pressure is not correct, replace relief valve.
