Flywheel Assembly. (Sheet 2 of 3)
DISASSEMBLY
CAUTION
Separate gear from flywheel
only if inspection indicates
replacement of gear is
necessary.
1.
Inspect gear and flywheel (Figure
13-36). Replace gear if teeth
are broken, chipped or cracked.
2.
Using hammer and punch, drive
gear evenly from flywheel and
separate, if necessary. If
removal is difficult, heat gear
with torch.
3.
Inspect gear and flywheel.
Mating surface of gear and
flywheel must not be grooved or
scored.
CLEANING
Clean all parts. Refer to Chapter 2.

2.
