Shift

FORWARD-NEUTRAL position (Figure 8-
21).

Retract control cable (9) by pushing down
on rod end (10) as far as control cable (9)
will allow.
11.
Inspect rod end (10) and lever (11) to see if
hole in rod end (10) a lines with hole in
lever (11). If holes are not a lined, measure
the distance between them.
12.
Loosen nut (12).
13.
Adjust rod end (10). Thread rod end (10)
on control cable (9) half the distance
measured in step 11.
14.
Install lockwasher (8) and bolt (7).
15.
Tighten nut (12).
