Note direction oil seal is installed in housing prior to removal. Seal must be installed in
same direction or oil leak will result. Failure to follow this caution may result in damage to
equipment.
19. Use driver to remove oil seal (Figure 7, Item 1) from flywheel housing (Figure 7, Item 2). Discard oil seal.

20. Remove lifting device, sling, and link brackets from flywheel housing.

Install oil seal in direction noted during remova. Failure to follow this caution may result in

damage to equipment.
Clean all oil from seal mounting surfaces on flywheel housing. Oil seal will leak if not
installed on a clean dry surface. Failure to follow this caution may result in damage to
equipment.
1. Use driver to install new oil seal (Figure 7, Item 1) in flywheel housing (Figure 7, Item 2).
2. Attach link brackets, sling, and lifting device to flywheel housing.
