Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure. Ensure any lifting device used is in good condition and of
suitable load capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device. Failure to
follow this warning may result in injury or death to personnel.
Prolonged or repeated contact with antiseize compound may cause skin irritation.
N OT E
Turbocharger weighs 40 lb (18 kg).
Apply a liberal amount of antiseize compound.
1. Apply antiseize compound to four studs (Figure 5, Item 6).
2. Install new gasket (Figure 5, Item 4), turbocharger (Figure 5, Item 2), and four nuts (Figure 5, Item 5) on
exhaust manifold (Figure 5, Item 3).
3. Install vacuum hose (Figure 5, Item 12) on actuator (Figure 5, Item 11).
4. Install new gasket (Figure 5, Item 7), oil drain tube (Figure 5, Item 8), and two bolts (Figure 5, Item 9) on
turbocharger (Figure 5, Item 2).
5. Install new gasket (Figure 5, Item 10), two bolts (Figure 5, Item 9), and oil drain tube (Figure 5, Item 8) on
engine.
6. Install air inlet tube (Figure 5, Item 16) and clamp (Figure 5, Item 1) on turbocharger (Figure 5, Item 2).
7. Install two clamps (Figure 5, Item 14) and air aftercooler hose (Figure 5, Item 13) on aftercooler tube (Figure 5,
Item 15) and turbocharger (Figure 5, Item 2).
