Replace any high-pressure fuel line that is loosened or removed. The fuel system
operates under extreme pressure. High-pressure fuel lines that have been loosened and
retorqued are prone to failure. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury or death to
personnel.
N OT E
Put identification marks on all hoses, hose assemblies, wires, and tube assemblies to aid
in installation.
If removing cylinder head from engine, retain fuel lines for alignment. Do not remove
retaining clip from fuel lines.
1. Remove bolt (Figure 1, Item 14) from clip (Figure 1, Item 13) and bracket (Figure 1, Item 15).
2. Remove bolt (Figure 1, Item 1), washer (Figure 1, Item 18), clip (Figure 1, Item 17), ether tube (Figure 1,
Item 2) and spacer (Figure 1, Item 16) from bracket (Figure 1, Item 15). Position ether tube aside.
3. Remove bolt (Figure 1, Item 4), washer (Figure 1, Item 5), spacer (Figure 1, Item 3), harness clip (Figure 1,
Item 12) and bracket (Figure 1, Item 15) from fuel rail (Figure 1, Item 11).
4. Remove bolt (Figure 1, Item 7), washer (Figure 1, Item 8), clamp (Figure 1, Item 9), harness (Figure 1, Item 10)
and spacer (Figure 1, Item 6) from fuel rail (Figure 1, Item 11). Position electrical harness aside.
