Always inspect the harness connectorsthat are involved in the circuit.
Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical
circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure,
and that all connections are in good condition. If a problem with a con-
nection is found, correct the problem and verify that this diagnostic code
is Active before performing this procedure.
Perform open or short circuit test ateach harness connection to identify
correct harness to replace.
Perform this test only if condition is Active.

Test Step 2. Test Steering Valve Pull
Up Resistor.
1. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to the OFF
position (TM5-3805-293-10).
2. Remove rear front frame cover
(WP 0224).
3. Disconnect harness connector U-
C11 (WP 0009, Figure 256) from
steering valve pull up resistor (WP
0009, Figure 257).
4. Using digital multimeter, test
Resistance OK - Proceed to Test
resistance between steering valve
Step 3.
pull up resistor terminals.
Resistance Less Than 450 Ohms -
Resistance should be between 450
Replace steering valve pull up resistor
and 550 Ohms.
