Always inspect the harness connectorsthat are involved in the circuit.
Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical
circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure,
and that all connections are in good condition. If a problem with a con-
nection is found, correct the problem and verify that this diagnostic code
is Active before performing this procedure.
Perform open or short circuit test ateach harness connection to identify
correct harness to replace.
Perform this test only if condition is Active.
Test Step 1. Test for 8 V Power and
Signal Voltage at LH Joystick.
Trans/chassis 120M and verify
1472-03 is active.
2. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to the OFF
position.
3. Disconnect the cab lower wiring
harness connector P-C51 (WP
0009, Figure 118) from LH joy-
Figure 119) (WP 0282).
4. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to the ON posi-
tion.
Voltage OK (7.2 - 8.8 Volts) - 8 Volt
voltage between P-C51 terminal 1
power supply from implement ECM
and cab lower wiring harness OK, pro-
nal 8 (ground). Voltage should be
ceed to step 6.
between 7.2 and 8.8 volts.
Voltage Not OK - Proceed to Test
Step 2.
Voltage OK (7.2 - 8.8 Volts) - Sensor
voltage between P-C51 terminal 7
signal circuit, transmission and imple-
ment ECM OK. Replace LH joystick
nal 8 (ground).
(WP 0282).
Proceed to step 7.
Voltage Not OK - Sensor signal cir-
cuit open or transmission or imple-
ment ECM bad, proceed to Test Step
