Always inspect the harness connectorsthat are involved in the circuit.
Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical
circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure,
and that all connections are in good condition. If a problem with a
connection is found, correct the problem and verify that this diagnostic
code is active before performing this procedure.
Perform open or short circuit test ateach harness connection to identify
correct harness to replace.
Perform this test only if condition is active.
1. Connect MSD (WP 0006). Select
Diagnostic Code 1797-03 Active -
Engine ECM C6.6 120M and ver-
Proceed to step 2.
ify 1797-03 is active.
2. Turn ignition switch to the OFF
position.
3. Disconnect the fuel rail pressure
sensor EA-C6 (WP 0009, Figure
25) harness connector.
4. Install a jumper wire between har-
ness connector EA-C6 (WP 0009,
Figure 25) terminal 3 and ground.
5. Turn ignition switch to the ON
position.

Wait at least 30 seconds in order for diagnostic codes to become active.
1797-03 Remains Active - Proceed
6. Using the MSD (WP 0006), select
to step 11.
