5. There is a primary and secondary fuel filter. The primary fuel filter is mounted on the left front on the hydraulic
service pack. The secondary fuel filter is mounted on the left side of the engine. The fuel filters remove
impurities in the fuel which may damage the fuel injection pump or the fuel injectors.

Ether Injection

Ether injection is a starting aid for cold conditions. Ether is injected into the intake manifold in order to improve the
ability of the engine to start. The ECM uses information from engine sensors such as the engine temperature
sensor to determine when the relay for ether injection must be energized. The addition of ether improves ignition
during the compression stroke of the cylinder.
