FAN ASSEMBLY
Fan/alternator belts; check and adjust. Apply a 25 lb
force midway between the pulleys. Deflection should be
1/2 in.
BATTERY
WARNING
Never disconnect any charging unit
circuit or battery circuit cable from
battery when the charging unit is
operating. A spark can cause an
explosion from the flammable vapor
mixture of hydrogen and oxygen that
is
released
from
the
electrolyte
through the battery outlets. Injury to
personnel may be the result.
Clean top of batteries. Remove filler caps and check
electrolyte level. Maintain electrolyte level to bottom of
filler openings. Install filler caps.
At the proper charge rate, the batteries will not require
more than 1 ounce of water per cell per week.
