ENGINE COMPRESSION TEST CONTINUED
9. Install cylinder compression gauge (600 psi hydraulic pressure gauge) assembly (Figure 7, Item 3) to
compression test adapter (Figure 7, Item 1).
10. Turn battery disconnect switch to the ON position (TM 5-3805-293-10).
11. Operate starting motor to turn engine (TM 5-3805-293-10).
12. Turn ignition switch to off position (TM 5-3805-293-10).
N OT E
If one or more cylinders vary by more than 51 psi, engine fails compression test.
If psi readings are within range, engine passes compression test.
13. Record the maximum pressure indicated on compression gauge (Figure 7, Item 3). Press the pressure relief
valve (Figure 7, Item 2) to reset gauge.
14. Remove cylinder compression gauge assembly from compression test adapter.
15. Repeat steps 8 - 14 until each cylinder has been tested.
