TRANSMISSION LUBRICATION SYSTEMSYSTEMS OPERATIONTM 5-3805-263-14&P-2TRANSMISSION LUBRICATION SYSTEMThe oil that is necessary for the operation andlubrication of the transmission is made available bya gear type pump that has two sections. The shaftthat turns the input gear for the transfer gears alsoturns the shaft for the pump. The pump turns atengine speed. There are three oil reservoirs for the transmis-sion; transmission reservoir (9), main reservoir (10),and differential reservoir (11). The oil is pulledfrom the main reservoir (10) by the small section ofthe pump (6). The flow of oil from the small sectionof the pump goes through filter (1) to main reliefvalve (2). The flow of oil then goes to the selectorvalve (8), oil cooler (3) and to the clutches andgears for lubrication.2-12
