Electrical shock hazard. Electronic unit injector system uses 67-73
Volts. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury to personnel.
N OT E
The fuel injectors are electro-mechanical devices. High-pressure fuel is
continuously available to each injector. The Engine Electronic Control
Module (ECM) determines the correct time and duration to activate
each injector.
Test Step 1. Test Fuel Injector and
Engine Control Wiring Harness.
N OT E
Always inspect the harness connectorsthat are involved in the circuit.
Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical
circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure,
and that all connections are in good condition. If a problem with a
connection is found, correct the problem and verify that this diagnostic
code is active before performing this procedure.
Perform open or short circuit test ateach harness connection to identify
correct harness to replace.
Perform this test only if condition is active.
Injectors 1-3 share a common ground in the Engine ECM. A failure of
the ECM could cause all three codes to appear.
Injectors 4-6 share a common ground in the Engine ECM. A failure of
the ECM could cause all three codes to appear.
Engine ECM C6.6 120M.
2. Start engine or attempt to start
engine.
3. At the MSD, check if all three
0001-05, 0002-05, and 0003-05
Diagnostic Codes are Active -
diagnostic codes 0001-05, 0002-
Replace the Engine ECM (WP 0067).
05, and 0003-05 are active.
0004-05, 0005-05, and 0006-05
4. At the MSD, check if all three
Diagnostic Codes are Active -
diagnostic codes 0004-05, 0005-
Replace the Engine ECM (WP 0067).
05, and 0006-05 are active.
