Refer to paragraph 3-12.Step 2.Check the lubrication in the valve compartment. There must be a strong flow of oil at a high RPM and a small flow at a low RPM.If the oil level is not correct--service. Refer to paragraph 3-13.Step 3.Check the face of the rocker arms contacting valve.If a rocker arm is worn, damaged or defective--replace. Refer to paragraph 3-12.Step 4.Check the valve stems.If a valve stem is worn, damaged or defective--replace.
