Period - Continued
Always inspect the harness connectorsthat are involved in the circuit.
Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical
circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure,
and that all connections are in good condition. If a problem with a
connection is found, correct the problem and verify that this diagnostic
code is active before performing this procedure.
Perform open or short circuit test ateach harness connection to identify
correct harness to replace.
Perform this test only if condition is active.
Engine ECM C6.6 120M and
verify 0342-08 is active.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the
Figure 12) harness connector
from the secondary engine speed
4. Turn the ignition switch to the ON
sure voltage supply circuit EA-C3
connector terminal 1, and ground.
Voltage should be 8.0 ± 0.8 Volts.
Voltage OK (7.2-8.8 Volts) - Proceed
to step 6.
Voltage Less Than Specified Range
- Proceed to Test Step 2.
6. Turn the ignition switch and bat-
tery disconnect switch to the OFF
7. Disconnect Engine ECM harness
ure 3) from Engine ECM J2.
for continuity between EA-C3

connector terminal 2, and Engine
ECM harness connector EA-C1
harness is open, replace engine con-
trol wiring harness (WP 0080).
There should be good continuity.
